Supported Internship Spotlight: James at Urban Art Festival 2025
Following the success of the Urban Art Festival in 2024, we were excited to participate again in 2025 — this time taking on more responsibility by mentoring a supported intern, James.
James joined us every Thursday during term time, dedicating himself to learning new skills like T-shirt making and laser cutting. Although James is selectively mute and sometimes found certain tasks challenging, he communicated well with us and persevered throughout the year.
While such challenges might make a commercial environment difficult, this internship was about growth, friendship, and discovery. James learned new skills, connected with peers, and made meaningful progress, all while becoming a valued part of our studio community.
We celebrate James’s achievements and the spirit of inclusivity and support that define our work.
